1.26m Fabric-Backed Vinyl Film for Wall Panel Lamination

Why most wall panel factories are trimming away money

If you laminate wall panels with American-style vinyl film, you probably buy it at 1.37m wide. That width was set for the American wallcovering market, not for panels.

A standard panel is 1220mm wide. On a 1.37m roll, that leaves about 150mm of trim on every width. On a 1.26m roll, it leaves about 40mm. Same panel, same film, far less material cut off and thrown away on every run. Over a container of film, that difference is real money, not a rounding error.

That is why we make this film at 1.26m: not because we cannot make it wider, but because 1.26m is the width that fits the panel.

What this film is

This is an American-style fabric backing vinyl wallcovering film. It is not ordinary flat PVC film.

Three things set it apart:

  1. Fabric backing. The fabric backing supports the film through lamination and in everyday use on a panel, where a plain film is more likely to show its limits.
  2. Thickness, usually 25s and above.
  3. Strong texture. Compared with ordinary PVC film, the surface has a pronounced, tactile texture — the kind of finish that reads as a real material on a wall panel, not a printed flat sheet.

The width example above assumes a 1220mm panel. If your panels are a different width, tell us the size and we will check the trim calculation for your line before you order.

What to test before a bulk order

Lamination results depend on your panel substrate, adhesive, heat and pressure settings, so do not judge this film from a photo alone. We recommend a sample lamination trial on your own line:

  1. Laminate a sample panel at your normal settings.
  2. Check adhesion, edge trim and surface texture after cooling.
  3. Check the panel face in normal room light, not only under workshop lights.

Who this film is for — and who it is not for

This film is for factories that laminate vinyl onto wall panels and want an American-style look with a strong texture, in a width that matches the panel.

Finished laminated wall panels in light grey – large, small and round formats
Finished panels laminated with the film, in light grey — the end result factories are selling, not just the roll.

It is not positioned as a finished retail wallpaper, and it is not the right choice if you need a finished wallcovering roll for direct home installation. If that is what you need, see our finished wallcovering ranges instead.
